“The one who carries this sign with him will not get lost in storm or in bad weather, even if the path is unknown.” Vegvisir (Icelandic for “pointer” or “guide”) is an Icelandic magical symbol designed to help find your way in bad weather. The symbol is attested in the Huld manuscript collected in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in 1860 (but it consists of materials of earlier origin).
