This piece of jewelry is based on Viking pendants from the 9th-11th centuries AD found on the territory of Ukraine. We believe that the artifact depicted a falcon or raven (which may be related to one of Odin's ravens).

1) In Egypt, the falcon was the King of Birds, the beginning of the heavens, the hunting of birds. He personified the god Horus, who appeared either as a hawk or as a falcon's head. In the Inca religion, the falcon was a solar symbol that guarded the spirit. The Scandinavians believed that Odin could descend to earth in the form of a falcon.

The falcon was a symbol of the legendary Viking and King of Kievan Rus Rurik (9th century AD). He was the ancestor of the principalities of Kievan Rus. Obviously, the pendant belonged to one of the warriors of the principalities of Kievan Rus. Later, the coat of arms of Rurik (Falcon) turned into the modern symbol of Ukraine - the Trident.

2) In Norse mythology, Huginn (from Old Norse “thought”) and Muninn (from Old Norse ‘memory’ or “mind”) are a pair of ravens that fly around the world, Midgard, and carry information to the god Odin.
