The shirt fastens at the front with three pairs of tassels, which run the full length of the placket. The cuffs fasten with buttons. The design originates from a shirt from the village of Kolontaiv, Bohodukhiv District, Kharkiv Region. The sleeves of the embroidered shirt are decorated with vertical stripes of viburnum. The front panels are embroidered with oak leaves and acorns. The pattern is reproduced from an antique embroidered shirt from the early 20th century, held in the collections of the National Museum of Architecture and Life of Ukraine. The hand-embroidery technique has been reproduced using machine embroidery.
