Opishne is the pottery capital of Ukraine. According to archaeological finds discovered in the vicinity of Opishne, the territory of the village was inhabited as early as the Neolithic period. Later, there were Cossack settlements here, as well as large-scale gunpowder production, which accounted for 70% of the Russian Empire's gunpowder. But Opishne is most famous for its jugs, mugs, and plates, as it is called the cradle of Ukrainian pottery.
